1. The College Board supervises the SAT exams, but their website offers a great deal of information about colleges. You can do a refined search, for example, for the colleges that match your interests and abilities. You can also do online SAT practice and request information be sent to you.
2. The Common Application Website gives you a complete list of all the colleges which accept the Common Application. In addition, you may download the application and the supporting documents you need. Remember that many of the colleges require that you submit a special supplement to the Common Application (usually just one or two pages).
3. Be sure to take the Test of English as a Foreign language (TOEFL) exam more than once! On their website you can take practice questions and get more information. In order to take the test in Istanbul, you must telephone their regional center in The Netherlands at 31.320.239.540
4. Canadian Universities have a different sort of application process than those in the USA. One must apply through the provincial University Application Center:

6. The National Association for College Admission Counseling is a great source for information. This site has many important documents for students and their parents.
7. The Princeton Review website can help you research colleges and prepare for the SAT.
8. College Confidential has many application tips, discussion forums, and information about what college life is like.
9. College Data is a super website that can help you find your personal “college match,” and also provides good information on scholarships.
10. Fast Web is the place to go for the best scholarship information.
11. Watch out for these unaccredited “diploma mills”.
