Academic
Eyüboğlu students had a great success in UCLES Exams organized in cooperation with Cambridge University and the British Council. UCLES Exams are internationally recognized and accredited by the EU and ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe).
Our students came first in their categories in Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET PET ve FCE exams.
Successful students received their certificates at ceremonies held on 19-22 January 2010.
Sports
Our 5th grade student Berker Tomaç won THIRD PLACE in Juniors Category of Eyüboğlu XIV. Friendship Chess Tournament organised on 8th and 10th of January 2010.
Our 9th Grade student Elif Erbil Yıldız won SECOND PLACE in Juniors A Competition and THIRD PLACE in Juniors B Competition in Turkish Clubs Fencing Competition organised on 5th and 6th of December 2009.
Elif also won FIFTH PLACE in European Fencing Juniors Curcuit Championship organized on 19th and 20th of December 2009.

Sports
İstanbul Children League was organized by Turkey Chess Federation in December.
45 teams from the European and Asian Sides of the city joined the league to constitute İstanbul Team. “Little Stars of Istanbul” team won first place in the European Side - Sarıyer Group and became one of the two teams to represent Istanbul in the national championships.
Our students İzge Bayyurt and Berker Tomaç of “Little Stars of Istanbul” team won the right to take part in Istanbul province team which will compete in the national championships.

National Equestrian Show Jumping Competition, Turkey
Our student Cengizhan Kuşçu from Grade 6 won THIRD PLACE in the PIII category National Equestrian Show Jumping Competition which was held on 17-18 October 2009.
Sports
Our student Sıla Kartal from 6A class won FIRST PLACE in poetry category and Iraz Bölükbaşı from 7D class won SECOND PLACE in essay category in the competition themed “World Human Rights Day” which was organized by Ümraniye District Directorate of Education.

Our 4th Grade student Melisa Sude Gonca won FIRST PLACE in 50m butterfly style and 50m free style swimming competitions during the “Friendship Tournament” organized by Galatasaray Sports Club.
Our 6th Grade student Zeynep Aksoy won FIRST PLACE in PII category of D-Smart 70cm. equestrian competition held on 21-22 November 2009.
Two students from Turkey won prizes in the 11th International Art Competition organized in Czechoslovakia on 24 October 2009.
One of those two students was our student Yaman Yazdıç from 2-A class in Kemerburgaz Primary School who received a plaque and award certificate. Tolga Küçük and Asya Borahan from Çamlıca Primary School received participation certificates in the same competition.

“The Game in My Dreams”
Photography artist Berkant Çolak opened an exhibition titled “The Game in My Dreams” from 8-19 January 2007 in Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions Rahmi Eyüboğlu Art Gallery. Our students who were in Grades 2, 3, and 4 back then visited the exhibition and wrote down their comments about the photographs of children playing in the street in Fener-Balat area. Our students’ comments and the comments written by students of other schools in which the same photographs were exhibited were collected and published as a book by Berkant Çolak. The exhibition consisting of the photographs and students’ comments was opened on 20 November 2009 in Taksim Metro Moving Walkway Area. The exhibition which also includes comments written by our students will be open until Saturday, 5 December 2009.

In the Art Competition titled “My Dream Vacation” organized by Lykia World on May 22, 2009, our student Denef Su Tekir from Kemerburgaz Primary School Reception B class won FIFTH PLACE and Selen Sonbay from Çamlıca Primary School Reception B class won an HONORABLE MENTION award.
Our student İzge Bayyurt from Çamlıca Primary School 3-F class won FIRST PLACE in the junior category of Interschool Chess Tournament organized by Istanbul Province Gendarmerie Command from 5-7 June 2009.
In junior teams category, our school team consisting of İzge Bayyurt, Berker Tomaç, Cem Romi, and Fırat İnci won THIRD PLACE.
80 students competed in the junior category of the competition which hosted a total of 150 participants in all categries.
In the National Carting Championships which took place in İzmit-Körfez on May 31, 2009, our students Murathan Gür from 10FA class won SECOND place and Berk Durak from 6-B class won THIRD place in KF2 (adults-super) and KF3 categories respectively.
Our Junior and Juvenile Boys Handball teams came THIRD and our Juvenile Girls Handball team came FOURTH in Eyüboğlu High School Youth and Sports Club 2008-2009 season games.

Photography Club Exhibition
The photograph exhibition titled “Glances” which our Photography Club member students prepared under the supervision of their advisor, photograph artist Mr. Merih Akoğul opened in Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Art Gallery on Wednesday, 27 May 2009. The exhibition can be visited between 09:00-17:00 hours until 10 June 2009.
Our Kindergarten Students’ End-of-Year Shows
Our students in Erenköy Kindergarten, Koşuyolu Kindergarten, and Eyüboğlu Kindergarten in Sabancı University Campus will perform their end-of-year shows on Saturday, May 30th in ÇAMLICA campus, EYÜBOĞLU Hall.
The performances will take place at the following times:
Eyüboğlu Kindergarten in Sabancı University Campus students at 10:00-12:00 hours;
Erenköy Kindergarten students at 13:00-15:00 hours;
Koşuyolu Kindergarten students at 16:00-18:00 hours.
Kemerburgaz Kindergarten students will have their show from 10:00-11:30 hours on Saturday, June 6th in KEMERBURGAZ Campus BURÇAK EYÜBOĞLU Hall.
"Our Strength Is Our Imagination” Creativity Festival
A creativity festival will be organized in Eyüboğlu Kemerburgaz Campus for 3 and 4 year-old kindergarten children and primary school students. The slogan for the festival reads “Our Strength Is Our Imagination”. Our students will both develop their imagination and have fun during the activity which will take place from 11:00-14:00 hours on Sunday, May 31st.
PYP Exhibition Opens
Our PYP exhibition will take place in Çamlıca Campus Eyüboğlu Hall on 2 June 2009. The exhibition will open with a performance by 5th Grade students and will continue with the presentations which the students will deliver in their classrooms.
Summerfest in Çamlıca and Kemerburgaz Campuses
Our primary school students will welcome summer at the Summerfest. Kemerburgaz Primary School’s Summerfest will take place in Kemerburgaz Campus on Tuesday, the 9th of June and Eyüboğlu Çamlıca Primary School’s Summerfest will take place in Çamlıca Campus on Thursday, the 11th of June.

Our DI team members Ceren Hazar, Ezgi Özçıkmak, Emre Gürel, Mendi Ojalvo, Özcan Karslı and Cem Ak attended Destination ImagiNation Global Finals 2009 which were held at Knoxville, TN USA on May 18th-25th. Our DI team represented Turkey very well and became 21st out of 903 teams coming from all over the world.
Our 6th Grade student Ahmet Can Mert placed THIRD in Istanbul Province Inter-school Swimming Competitions which took place at Burhan Felek Swimming Pool on 14-15 May 2009
Our 5th Grade student Ege Gülener placed THIRD in the “super-juniors” category of the Juniors and Super-juniors National Open Cup Fencing Competitions which took place at Burhan Felek Sports Complex on 23-24 May 2009.
Our student Göksel Eryılmaz from Ataşehir Primary School 3rd Grade won first place in the Judo Competitions held on May 23rd, 2009.

The End-of-Year Celebrations Begin
Ataşehir Primary School students’ end-of-year show will take place at Eyüboğlu Hall in Çamlıca Campus on Saturday, the 23rd of May.
Reception and Grade 1 students will perform their show from 10:00 – 11:30 hours; and
Grade 2, 3, and 4 students will stage theirs from 13:00 -14:30 hours.

The finals of the 4th Mathematics and Science Projects Competition titled “My Work” organized by the Ministry of Education took place in Ankara on 12-13 May 2009. Among 32.000 projects qualified to participate in the finals, two of our students’ projects won FIRST PLACE.

Our students competed as individuals and in pairs with a total of 4 projects in the 2nd Science Projects Competition which was organized by İstek Belde Science High School on 2 May 2009.
Our 6th Grade student Kaan Yazıcı won SECOND PLACE in the Model-Composition category with his project titled “Legoic Force Microscope” and our 8th Grade student Mert Bayraktar won THIRD PLACE with his project titled “Let’s Dust the Mistakes”.
Eyüboğlu students who participated in the competition were Kaan Yazıcı from Grade 6, Duygu Turan and Gizem Aslan from Grade 7, Mert Bayraktar from Grade 8, and Aylin Şahiner and Batuhan Oğuz from Science High School.
"VI. National Inteligence Games" organized by "Turkish Inteligence Foundation" was held at Antalya Collage on 10-12 May 2009.
Yasin Güçtekin from Science High School received the first place in the Lycee Category and Utku Gündoğan from Çamlıca Primary School received the fifth place in the Primary School Category.
In the mixed teams competition, the mixed team in which Volkan Soysal from Lycee team and Utku Gündoğan from Primary School team participated, received the first place and Yasin Güctekin's mixed team received the second place.
The competition was held with the participation of a total of 235 students from 19 different cities in Turkey.

On 29 April 2009, the second stage of the 3rd Inter-High School Mathematics Competition, organized by Sabancı University, was held in the individuals categorgy.

Yağmur Şimşek from 3E participated in 'Swimming Competitions in the Memory of Canan Ateş' which was organized on May 2009 by Galatasaray Club and received the first place in 100m. Medley.
She was also on the team which received the second place in 8 X 25 m. Free Style.

On may 2009 at Maltepe Stadium our students participated in the Outdoor Archery Competition.
Ecem Mutlu received the second place in İstanbul in the ‘Girls Category’ and the third place in the ‘Young Women’s Category in the Archery Competition.
Alper Varış received the first place in Istanbul in the ‘Boys’ Category’ and the third place in the ‘Young Men’s Category’ in the Archery Competition.
Atakan Tekinak received the second place in İstanbul both in the ‘Boys’ Category’ and ‘Young Men’s Category’ in the Archery Competition.

Eyüboğlu Science High School won FIRST PLACE, Özel Sevgi Çiçeği Anafen Science High School SECOND PLACE, Bahçeşehir Science ve Technology High School, THIRD PLACE and Atatürk Science High School, FOURTH PLACE.
Our students Yasin Güçtekin, Serkan Soysal, and Gökçe Şencan represented EYUBOĞLU SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL.
At the award ceremony held on the same day, our students received their cups, certificates and awards from Prof. Dr. Ali Nesin. The competition started with 38 schools; four continued to the finals.

Berke Önyüksel came first and Burcu Hatipoğlu obtained the mension. The competition entitled “Sea and Istanbul” was held in two categories as 3rd, 4th, 5th /6th, 7th, 8th grades.
The award ceremony will be held in Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall in May.

Activity
Eyüboğlu 13th Sky Festival will take place on May 2nd...
During Sky Festival which will be organized on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009, there will be a planetarium show for students aged 7-13 as well as day-time and night-time observations for all students and parents.
In the planetarium which will be set up in Sports and Arts Complex, the sky events will be simulated with visual effects. The 30-minute show will be repeated for groups of 30 people at each session from 10:00 to 15:30.
Eyüboğlu Twin Observatories will be open to observers throughout the day. If the weather allows, the visitors will be able to observe the sun from 11:00 to 18:00 hours, and Saturn, Moon, Mars, Coma Berenices constellation, M12 and M13 Globular Clusters, and M57 Ring Nebula from 20:00 till 23:00 hours.
“Small Hands, Great Works” creativity competition
On Sunday, 3 May 2009, groups of students from kindergarten 4-year-old classes of and from primary school reception classes will produce works that reflect their creativity. The results of the competition will be determined by the jury which consists of art and creativity teachers and the winners will be presented with awards.
At the end of the competition, the exhibition titled “My Bag” which consists of the bags that each student created individually at school will be opened in Eyüboğlu Primary School building.
11. Active Art Competition...
One of Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions’ traditional activities and organized for the 11th time this year, the Active Art Competition will take place on Tuesday, 5 May 2009 in Eyüboğlu Çamlıca Campus.
In the competition, which is first and only of its kind in Turkey, students will start working on their paintings simultaneously and finish within a given period of time. The works will be evaluated by the jury and the winners will be presented with awards at a ceremony held at the end of the competition. The members of the jury include; Prof. Fevzi Karakoç, Associate Prof. Gürbüz Ekşioğlu and Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions Visual Arts Coordinator Gönül Akarvardar.
This year, 130 students from 15 schools will participate in the competition.
The competition will last from 10:30 till 13:30 hours at Eyüboğlu Sports and Arts Complex and the award ceremony will be held at 17:00 hours. The works of the students who win prizes in the competition will be exhibited in Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Art Gallery.
IB Art Exhibition opened in Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Gallery.
The exhibition consisting of the works of art which International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students have created in their Visual Arts Course are exhibited in Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Art Gallery. The exhibition will be open until 5 May. The exhibition includes works by our students Doğukan Şerifoğlu, Eren Eyüboğlu, Sarper Ulusel, Artun Aygün, Berk Aksoy, Duygu Özuyar, and Uras İpek.
Eyüboğlu Primary School students’ art exhibition titled “Portraits” opened in Luxsembourg International School.
The exhibition titled “Portraits”, consisting of paintings by Primary School Reception, Grade 1, 6, and 7 classes opened in Luxembourg International School on Wednesday, 22 April 2009. The exhibition, which had an international nature due to its being attributed to April 23rd, was opened with a ceremony that was attended by Turkish Ambassadress Ayşe Asya, Undersecretary İhsan Sakarya, (ACTL) Luxsembourg-Turkish Culture Association Chairman Bayram Ankaralı, ACTL Board Vice President and Garanti Bank Luxembourg Branch Manager Mahmut Ayrıc.
The exhibition is available for visitors on the school website thanks to a virtual gallery designed by Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions Information Technology Education Coordinator Barış Yalçınkaya.
The 10th Science Festival and Project Competition begins…
The Science Festival and Project Competition will take place in our Çamlıca Campus on Saturday, 9 May 2009. The competition will begin at 10:00 and end at 15:00. The festival will continue into the day with an activity titled “Fun Science: Science Shows” that will take place from 15:00-16:00. The 10th Science Festival and Project Competition will end with the award ceremony at 16:15 hours.

Achievement
In the “3rd Istanbul Inter-High School Mind Games” competition organized by Hüseyin Avni Sözen Anadolu Lisesi, our Science High School students Yasin Güctekin and Serkan Soysal won SECOND PLACE and SIXTH PLACE respectively in the individuals category. A total of 152 students from 54 schools participated in the competitions.
Eyüboğlu Science High School came 3rd and Eyüboğlu High School came 9th in the overall school rankings.

In the Mathematics Competition organized by Sabancı University on Monday the 20th of April, 2009, our students Yasin Güçtekin, Serkan Soysal, Alp Turhan Öztürk, and Gökçe Şencan passed the first stage successfully by winning SECOND PLACE (with 260 points), SIXTEENTH PLACE (with 210 points), THIRTY SIXTH PLACE (with 180 points), and THIRTY NINTH PLACE (with 177 points) respectively.
Out of a total of 347 contestants, our students passed the first stage successfully and qualified to compete in the second stage of the competitions. The second stage will take place with the participation of 50 students who scored 168 points and above.

May 2009 issue of Mother&Baby Magazine includes an article about Eyüboğlu Kindergartens and the same month’s issue of Bebeğim ve Biz Magazine includes an article about the “Language City Project” which was conducted from 25 March - 2 April 2009.
On Tuesday, 28 April 2009 an article titled “Eyüboğlu students came first in Physics” was published in Bizim Gazete. Also today, news was published in Posta Newspaper regarding our primary school students’ “Portraits” exhibition in Luxembourg.
On 27 April 2009, Hürriyet Daily News published news about our success in TÜBİTAK competitions.
Gazete Kadıköy of 10 April 2009 included an article titled “Primary school choirs competed”.
During the water seminar which was organized by Yeşil Bilgi Platformu at Belgrad Forest, our student Elif Bayazıt communicated to the press the declaration which will be read during the World Water Forum. Elif’s photograph appeared in the related article titled “For a green world...” published in April 2009 issue of National Geographic.

Activity
The joy of celebrating April 23rd...
Numerous activities will be held at our kindergartens, Çamlıca, Ataşehir, and Kemerburgaz Campuses on the 23rd of April, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Within the scope of the celebrations at our schools, our students will perform drama-music-dance shows, folk dances, step, world dances and ballet-dance shows which they have worked on throughout the year. The program will also include English Drama performances. There will be a barcovision presentation on the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day which includes poems regarding the 23rd of April. Our school choir will perform a repertoire of songs in various languages. The Art Exhibition titled “April 23rd” which consists of the works of students in all Eyüboğlu Schools is open to the enjoyment of visitors Eyüboğlu Hall’s foyer.
Another activity which we will participate in is the “Traditional Kemerburgaz Golf & Country Club April 23rd Celebrations”. Our students will add to the joy of the celebrations in Kemerburgaz with various activities such as folk-dance and choir performances. The activity will take place from 12:00-17:00 hours. All the parents are invited to Kemerburgaz Golf & Country Club.

Achievement
In the 4th Mathematics and Science Projects Competition titled “My Work” organized by the Ministry of Education in Zübeyde Hanım Öğretmen Evi from 13 – 16 April 2009, two of our students’ projects qualified to participate in the finals. The finals will take place in Ankara on 12-13 May 2009. The award ceremony will be held on 14 May 2009.

Eren Eyüboğlu from 12MA Class won FIRST Prize in 90 cm D, C, C+, and B Categories in Kaya Baban Winter League Dressage Competitions held at Istanbul Horse Riding Center on 4-5 April 2009.

Achievement
Our success in TÜBİTAK Competition…
Our project titled “Can liquid crystals that are used as raw material in the production of smart glass be replaced by environment friendly borax” won FIRST PRIZE in the physics component of the research projects competition organized annually by TÜBİTAK.
We congratulate our students Ekin Soysal, Dorukhan Afacan, and our teachers Betül Kösemen and Önder Demirbilek on their success.
In Istanbul Archery Championships which took place on 7 April 2009, Ecem Mutlu won SECOND PLACE in Classic Bow Junior Female Category individuals. Our team consisting of Onur Dikmen, Ecem Mutlu, and Deniz Yeşiltepe won THIRD PLACE in Classic Bow Juniors Category.
IIn the Drama Festival which took place in Marmara Educational Institutions, Drama in English Club represented our school successfully and won a number of prizes with the fragment that they performed from “The Fiddler on the Roof”.
The prizes that our students won are as follows:

Achievement
Of the 222 students who participated in “Cahit Arf Mathematics Days 2009” organized by Bilgi University, 30 students who scored higher than 53 points qualified to compete in the finals. Our Science High School student Yasin Güçtekin who scored 95 points qualified to compete in the finals which will take place on 18 April 2009.
In the National Fencing Clubs Competitions organized in Balıkesir on 21-22 March 2009, Aras Akmercan came second in Junior Boys Category and Elif Erbil came second in Junior Girls Category.
Our primary school choir which consists of 1st-5th Grade students participated in Kadıköy Onter-School Choir Days which was organized for the 12th time by KASDAV this year. Our school choir which performed four pieces with outstanding performance came FIRST by winning awards in eight areas.
The eight awards were in the areas of Intonation, Homogeneity, and Choir Sound, Interpretation of a Choral Piece with Solo, Musicality – Musical Dynamics, Interpretation of a Choral Piece with Instrumental Accompaniment, Polyphonic Harmony, Pronunciation-Articulation, Clarity, Interpretation of a Modern (Atonal-Inharmonic) Piece, and Promising Soloist.
We participated in Destination Imagination National Finals which took place at Robert College on 21-22 March with a total of four teams; one team consisting of students from Grades 1 to 5, one team consisting of students from Grades 6 to 8, and two teams consisting of high school students.
In the finals, Eyüboğlu High School student Selin Şevki (9B), Cem Ak (IB1), Dorukhan Afacan (10), Ezgi Özçıkmak (9D), Ceren Hazar (9E) and Özcan Karslı (IB1) won FIRST PLACE and thus qualified to represent our school and our country in the World Finals which will take place in the USA.
The team consisting of our students in Grades 1-5 of Eyüboğlu Çamlıca Primary School; Onur Kerem Özmen (4E), Nur Damla Işık (4F), Sarp Oran (4B), Ekin Başaran (5E), Atakan Göl (5E), Yasemin Kol (5B) and Diclenaz Özdemir (5H) won both Göktürk’s Hunt competition and SECOND PLACE as a group.
Two teams consisting of our students from 6th-8th Grades of High School and Çamlıca Primary School participated in the DI Extreme which took place within the scope of the National Finals.
The team of students representing our school - Berkay Soykan (7F), Baran Kayır (8E), Utku Gündoğan (7D), Elif Başaran (8E), Evrim Kuzu (8E), Mert Bayraktar (8E), Mavi Özkalıpcı (8K), Ece Karabınar (8C) and Gizem Aslan (7H) won SECOND PLACE.
In the Mind Games Competition which was organized by MEF Primary School on 21 March 2009 with the participation of 19 schools, our students Engin Cem Akdemir (8D), Deniz Akgün (8F) and Cem Töre Gökçam (7K) won THIRD PLACE as a group.

The traditional Literature and Book Days of Eyüboğlu Schools will be organized from 25-27 March. During the event, interviews with writers and signature days will be organized in addition to numerous publishing companies’ exhibiting their books at the stands which they will open at our schools.

Achievement
Two hundred and two students from 56 schools participated in the Mathematics Olympiad organized by Koç University on the 15th of March, 2009. Our Science High School student Yasin Güctekin succeeded to pass the first stage of competitions and thus qualified to compete in the FINALS which will take place on Sunday, 22 March 2009.

At TÜBİTAK-BİDEB Research Projects Competition for Secondary School Students 2009 / Istanbul - Asian Side, three of our students’ Physics, Chemistry, and Biology projects qualified to compete in the finals. The projects, which will be exhibited in Doğuş University’s campus from 07-09 April 2009, will subsequently participate in the finals that will take place in Ankara.
