FIRST PLACE at National Showjumping Championship...
Our IB 1F student Aylin Yıldız won FIRST PLACE at the National Showjumping Championship in Juniors Category. She has also succeeded to be chosen to the national team and will join the Balkan Championships in July. We sincerely congratulate our student who has succeeded in both the IB program and horse-riding which both require a lot of hard work and discipline.

Success at Drama Festival...
Our 6th-7th Grade Drama Club supervised by Tuğba Çebi won 2nd BEST PLAY, BEST ACTRESS (Pınar oral 7A), 2nd BEST ACTOR (Kağan Alp Yay 6H), BEST PROMISING ACTOR (Yiğit İpek 6C), BEST COSTUME, and 2nd BEST DECOR awards at the drama festival organized by INGED (English- Teaching Association) at Marmara Koleji on 25 May 2007. The participants included Çevre Okulu, Üsküdar SEV, Edirne Koleji, Koç Schools, and Marmara Koleji.

Social Responsibility Project Goes to Our 3rd Grade Students...
Our third graders won 2007 CIS Student Award for the aid that they provided to sister school (Cihatpaşa Primary School) within the scope of Social Responsibility Project in 2006-2007 academic year.

Prizes at 4th Antalya National Mind Games...
Kaan Cem Ketenci, Kaan Demiröz, Serkan Soysal, Volkan Soysal and Baran Çalışgan represented Eyüboğlu at 4th Antalya National Mind Games organized from 13-15 May 2007. Volkan Soysal from Eyüboğlu Science High School won THIRD PLACE, and Serkan Soysal won FOURTH PLACE in the High School students category; and were thus granted Special Awards by Intelligence Foundation of Turkey. In Phaselis Team Competition, Baran Çalışgan from Eyüboğlu High School won FIRST PLACE in the high school category and Kaan Cem Ketenci from Eyüboğlu Çamlıca Primary School 7th Grade won FIRST PLACE in primary schools category.

Active Art Competition
160 students from 20 schools are participating in the 9th Annual Active Art Competition which will be held at Eyüboğlu on the 18th of May, 2007. The competition will start at 10:30 hours and will last until 13:30. The winners will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held at Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Gallery on 21 May 2007 at 17:30 hours.

Eyüboğlu Students’ Work to be Exhibited at Akmerkez Mall on the 15th of May...
The works of art that our students have created during 2006-2007 academic year are exhibited at major shopping malls and culture centers. Our young artists’ exhibition will open on the 4th floor of Akmerkez at 18:00 hours on Tuesday, the 15th of May. Our school choir, consisting of 70 students, will give a concert during the opening ceremony.

Istanbul Champion in Swimming...
Our student Sami Desabah from class 5G won THIRD PLACE in 100m backstroke and FIRST PLACE in 50m backstroke in the inter-school swimming competitions held in Istanbul.

Success at Art Competition Titled April 23rd...
Sabancı Holding bünyesinde yapılan "23 Nisan" konulu Resim Yarışması 7-8 yaş grubunda, 1-E sınıfı öğrencimiz Yağmur Şimşek’in resmi 112 resim arasından mansiyon ödülü almaya hak kazandı. Öğrencimizi kutluyor, başarılarının devamını diliyoruz.

6,5 year-old İzge Bayyurt, who is a student in Grade 1, won THIRD PLACE at the World Schools Individual Chess Championships in the below-7-years age category.
2007 World Schools Individual Chess Championships were held in Halkidiki, Greece from 29 April - 5 May 2007. 25 students competed in the below-7-years age category in which İzge Bayyurt’ won 3rd place. We congratulate our student on his success...

The Language City Project...
What is Language City?
Language city consists of stations where students get the opportunity to use language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) as authentically as possible. In this project we established six stations: “doctor’s office”, “shopping”, “cinema”, “disco”, “café” and “buying tickets and getting road instructions”. At these stations the students met each other, did shopping, ordered food, talked about health problems, and asked for instructions to find a certain place. They enjoyed using the target language in a setting that was enriched by the décor. Students conducted peer-evaluation and consequently received Language City Passports.

Who participated?
All second foreign language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) students participated in the project.

When was the project implemented?
The project was planned in September and was implemented in March-April 2007 at the Audiovisual room in Science High School.

Our 10th Graders’ Success in the Exam for ISE Student Exchange Program...
Our school has collaborated with ISE (International Services in Education) to test our 10th Grade students’ proficiency in English language. Our 10th Graders took ISE’s SLEP® (Secondary Level English Proficiency) Exam on 16th April, 2007. Out of a total of 48 students who took the written test, 46 passed it. Nine of those students who were interested in the exchange program were interviewed and were found eligible to attend highschool in the USA or in Canada for one year as an exchange student.

Second Place in Art Competition...
Our student Kerem Akış from class 5K won SECOND PLACE in the art competition titled “Children of the Future” organized by İstanbul Koleji.

Success at Destination Imagination...
Three teams from our school participated in Destination Imagination organized by Robert Kolej on 29 April 2007. Our team which consisted of Alara Ertürk, Kaan Cem Ketenci, Cem Horasan, Burak Babaoğlu and Emre Karadayılar competed in the category titled “Creativity Carnival”. Throughout the day architectural, technical and artistic talents and creativity were put to test, a variety of spontaneous competitions were executed and the winners were announced based on the sum of points scored in each competition. Our team consisting of 7th and 8th Grade students won FIRST PLACE in the Creativity Carnival Category. Our team which participated in the DI Extreme competition represented our school successfully by creating a very interesting mechanism. Destination Imagination is world’s largest creative thinking and project generation organization. It aims to develop creative thinking, technical and artistic skills and team-work. The organization comprises three categories, i.e. Team Competition, DI Extreme and Creativity Carnival.

Our Graduate’s Success…
Our 2006 IBDP graduate Naz Beykan (top student on the honor roll and IB Diploma in 2006) has been invited to participate in "Global Young Leaders Conference" which will be held in Australia this year. Istanbul Technical University, at which she is currently studying will provide financial support for her trip.

Our Project in 2nd Erguvan Environmental Awards...
Our student Sarper Ulusel’s project titled “Alternative Horn System” ranked among the top 34 projects that competed in the Project Category of the 2nd Erguvan Environmental Awards organized by Istanbul Governorship’s Environment and Forest Directory and was found eligible to participate in the finals.

Our Student’s Success in National Philosophy Olympics...
Our IB2 M student Alper Tuzcu won EIGHTH PLACE in Istanbul and TWELFTH PLACE in Turkey at the 11th National Philosophy Olympics organized by Philosophy association of Turkey. The Olympics were realized with 127 participants from Istanbul and 398 participants from overall Turkey.

Our Students’ Success in the Project Competition...
Our students Ece Bahadır, Billur Bektaş and supervising teacher Aslı Taş participated in “My Work” Project Competition with their project titled “Is Whale Oil a Good Insulator?” which they exhibited at Feshane. The project passed the first evaluation conducted by TUBITAK’s Regional Science Councils, thus becoming one of the 16 projects that were found eligible to be taken to Ankara in Grades 6, 7 and 8 Category.

Success at Art Competition...
Our student Pınar Dumlu from class 8F won SECOND PLACE in the nation-wide art competition titled “Peace” organized by Izmir Türk Koleji.

Handball Semifinal Group Leader...
Our Junior Boys Handball Team won first place in their group at the Semifinals held in Burdur from 25-29 April 2007. Our team will participate in the National Championships to be held in Samsun from 30 May-3 June 2007.

Success in Swimming...
Our Junior Boys Swimming Team won FIFTH PLACE among 14 participating teams at the inter-school swimming competitions held from 10-12 April 2007. Our student Cem Horasan from Class 7-E won THIRD PLACE in 50m and 100m backstroke style.

Success in Volleyball...
Our Junior Girls Volleyball Team won SECOND PLACE in Istanbul Inter-School Volleyball Championships.

Success in Gymnastics…
In the Inter-school Artistic Gymnastics Championships, our student Bengisu Yazıcı from Class 3A in Ataşehir Primary School ranked EIGHTH among the 12 gymnasts who were elected to represent Istanbul at the competitions that will be held in Bolu.

Success in German Language B1 Certificate Exam...
Our 11th Grade students Elif Yıldırımcan, Meneviş Cılızoğlu, Zeynep Yılmaz and Elif Gökçe Önem passed the German Language B1 Certificate Exam (for adults). Our students achieved good scores and consequently received their certificates.

Our Kindergarten Students’ Success in Art...
Two students from EYUBOGLU Koşuyolu Kindergarten; İpek Akdeniz and Ekin Erbaş won honorable mention at the art competition organized by İstanbul Koleji and Flik Flak Watches. Furthermore, the paintings by İdil Alpa, a student of Eyüboğlu Koşuyolu Kindergarten and Berna İlme, an Eyüboğlu Erenköy Kindergarten were among the 30 paintings that were found eligible to be exhibited.

Success in German B1 Certificate Exam…
Ten of our students, whose names are given below, have passed the B1 Certificate Exam given by German Culture Institute for “Zertifikat Deutsch für Jugendliche”. Berna Aygün, Ahmet Yasin Akyıldız, Ahmet Can Kan, Can Erdoğan, Mercan Ocak, Berk Aksoy.

22 of our 8th Grade students who take the German Language course have taken the the A2 German Language Exam given by German Culture Institute. 21 of those students passed the exam and received their certificates on April 10th, 2007

Our Student’s Success in Fencing...
Our student Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu won SECOND PLACE in the Federation Cup organized by the Fencing Federation on March 24th 2007 in Ankara. Babaoğlu thus won the right to represent Turkey in the Junior/Youth Fencing World Championships to be held in Antalya from 8-10 April, 2007.

First and Second Place in Handball...
Our Junior Boys Handball Team won FIRST PLACE and our Junior Girls Handball Team won SECOND PLACE in Istanbul Province Handball Championships. The Junior Girls’ Team won the right to participate in the semifinals in Samsun and the Boys Junior Team won the right to participate in the semifinals in Burdur which will be held from 26-29 April 2007.

Success at TUBITAK Project Competition…
Seda Arslan from Science High School Grade 2 and Murat Soydan from Highschool Class 10FA collaboratively prepared a mathematics project titled “Calculating the Real Area of Spots on the Sun” with which participated in TUBITAK Project Competition. Out of a total of 417 participating projects, our students’ became one of 44 projects that were found eligible to be exhibited at Boğaziçi University.

Our student Zeynep Biçer from class 8F and Alper Tutankaban from class 3K won prizes in the poetry competition titled “My Teacher”, organized by the District Education Directorate to honor Teacher’s Day, 24th of November. Biçer also ranked SECOND in Istanbul.

EYUBOGLU High School Debate team competed against Dudullu 75.Yıl Cumhuriyet High School Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü tarafından düzenlenen münazaralar kapsamında Eyüboğlu Koleji münazara takımı, Dudullu 75.Yıl Cumhuriyet Lisesi ile karşılaşmış, “Gençliğin bunalımında eğitim eksikliği etkendir.” tezini savunarak münazarayı kazanmıştır. 1st Grader from Eyüboğlu Ataşehir Primary School Wins Second Place in Istanbul Province and First Place in Kadıköy District...
Eyüboğlu Ataşehir Primary School 1st Grade student Defne Menteş won SECOND PLACE in Istanbul Province and FIRST PLACE in Kadıköy District in the art competition organized to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Atatürk. Our student received her award during a ceremony organized at Istanbul Province Education Directorate on 9 November 2006.

Our 6.5 Year-old Student’s Great Success in Chess...
Our student İzge Bayyurt from class 1F won FIFTH PLACE in the International Chess Tournament organized in Istanbul from 27-29 October 2006. Although İzge is 6.5 years old, he won this prize by competing in the 8-year-olds category.

Our Students’ Success at UCLES Exam...
We take pride in the great success of Eyüboğlu students in 2005-2006 UCLES Exams. Our students ranked FIRST in Turkey in Movers and Flyers Exams. Our students who took KET and PET Exams were 100% successful; and the students who took the FCE Exam ranked second in Istanbul.

Great Success of IB DP Students...
The IB DP students who honor us with their success year after year have attained record scores this year according to the results announced on 5 July 2006. Especially the fact that the students achieved these results while getting prepared for the university exam at the same time makes their success even more admirable. Our student Naz Beykan proved the success of IB Diploma Programme implementation at EYUBOGLU by scoring 42 points.

Prizes at Art Competition titled “My Mother’s Kitchen”...
The Art Competition titled “My Mother’s Kitchen” organized by İntema Mutfak was finalized with a reward ceremony at Istanbul Modern Art Museum on the 28th of May, 2007. Our student Eda Erbil’s painting was one of the top ten works.

PYP Authorization...
Eyüboğlu Çamlıca Primary School was granted PYP authorization by the IBO, thus becoming the first Turkish school to have received authorization to implement all three IB programs, i.e. IB PYP, IBMYP and IBDP.

Our Students’ Success...
EYUBOGLU Çamlıca Primary School students from Science, Technology and Astronomy Club participated in Ataşehir Children’s Science Festival on June 10, 2007 and presented 9 projects. Eight of our students’ projects won FIRST PLACE in various areas in the 4th-5th Grades Category. Our students won first place in the areas of “The Most Creative Project”, “The Most Applicable Project”, “The Most Surprising Project”, “Project with Best Visual Effect”, “Best Experimental Design Project”, “Best Oral Presentation”, and “The Most Popular Project”.

Çamlıca Primary School’s Junior Boys and Girls Teams consisting of 4th and 5th Grade students participated in the Junior Handball National Championships held in Samsun from 31 May-4 June 2006. Our Junior Girls Handball Team won FOURTH PLACE and our Junior Boys Handball Team won SECOND PLACE in the Championships.

Our High School-Theater Club’s Success...
Our Turkish Theater Club, which competed in PAM Inter-High School Theater Festival, received a “5th PAM Inter Hşgh School Special Award” at the Award Ceremony held on 29 May 2006. Furthermore, our club was nominated for Best Assisting Actress (Hande Günderen) and Best Décor.

Our Students’ Success in Archery…
In the Youth Cup Archery Competition held in Antalya from 19-21 May 2006 our student Anıl Tanyıldız placed SECOND in ranking; won THIRD PLACE in the elimination contest; and broke Turkey’s record by scoring 111 points in Compound Bow Category. During the competitions Anıl Tanyıldız was also selected to become a member of the National Team.

Our students returned with awards from Marmara Educational Institutions’ Drama Festival, held on 28 April 2006. Ahmet Adıyaman 7D / Best Actor, Aslı Nur Özyörük 7F / Most Promising Actress-First Place, Gökçe Gökmen 7B / Most Promising Actress-Second Place, Dorukhan Afacan 7B / Most Promising Actor-Second Place, Eyüboğlu / 2nd Best Costume.

First Place in Mathematics Competition...
88 students from 44 schools including ours participated in the Mathematics Activities organized for 6th Graders by MEF Schools on 22 April 2006. Students who had a special interest and talent in mathematics competed in individual and group events. Our 6th Grade student Kaan Cem Ketenci ranked FIRST among 88 students and won a laptop computer. In group activities, our students’ group won THIRD PLACE.

Championship in Skiing and Snowboard Championships...
Canberk Akti from class 5B in EYUBOGLU Çamlıca Primary School became ISTANBUL CHAMPION in his own category and then NATIONAL CHAMPION at Audi Quattro Skiing and Snowboard Championships organized by Skiing Federation of Turkey in Bursa in March 2006.

The groundbreaking ceremony for Eyüboğlu Ataşehir Primary School which will come into service in 2006-2007 academic year will be held at 10:00 hours on 15 March, 2006 with the participation of Selami Öztürk, the Mayor of Kadıköy Municipality.

Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu's Success in Fencing...
Our student Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu competed with rivals who were 2 and 4 years older than himself and won THIRD PLACE in both groups at the Federation Cup National Tournament held in Afyon. Subsequently the Federation took T. Burak Babaoğlu to International Paris Foil Marathon 2006 which was held in Paris on 25-26 February 2006. 261 competitors from 19 countries participated in the competitions and T. Burak Babaoğlu won TWENTY FIRST place in general classification and FIRST PLACE among his age group (born in 1993).

Our Graduate’s Success...
Our graduate Pari Dukovic, class of 2002, was elected as the student representative for the graduation ceremony at Rochester Institute of Technology where he has been studying in the USA. Furthermore, he won FIRST PLACE and cash prize in the portfolio competition sponsored by Kodak.

Students' Great Success
Our IB DP students, who fill us with pride with the results that they achieve year after year, have attained record scores this year. Not only did our students, according to the results announced on July 5th, 2006, reach scores that only very few students around the world were able to achieve; but they also attained these successful results while getting prepared for the ÖSS (university entrance exam). Our student Naz Beykan provided another evidence of the successful implementation of IBDP at Eyüboğlu by achieving a score of 42 points. We sincerely congratulate our students, teachers and IB coordinator.

Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu's Achievements in Fencing...
In the Federation Cup National Championships held in Afyon, our student Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu defeated his opponents who were 2 and 4 years older than he and won third place in both groups. Following this tournament, the Fencing Federation took T. Burak Babaoğlu to the International Paris Foil Marathon held in Paris on 25-26 February 2006. Consequent to the competitions in which 261 fencers from 19 countries participated, T. Burak Babaoğlu came 21st in the overall ranking and won first place in his own age group.

Pari Dukovic, class of 2002, was chosen to deliver an address as students’ representative at the graduation ceremony of Rochester Institute of Technology, USA where he has been studying photography. Furthermore, he won first place and cash prize in the portfolio competition which was held under the sponsorship of Kodak.

Istanbul Mixed Boys’ Handball Team won first place and thus a gold medal among a total of 18 teams in the National Provincial Mixed Team Women’s Handball Championships organized in Antalya by the Handball Federation. As Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions, we congratulate the Istanbul Mixed Team and the members Eyüboğlu Sports Club – Berkan Küçükyılmaz, Doğukan Şerifoğlu and Sarpel Ulusel - who played in the team.

35 Eyüboğlu students who participated in Space Camp Turkey in İzmir from 22-27 January 2006 returned to Istanbul on Friday, 27 January

A Visit to Picasso Exhibition
All the students in Grades 4 to 10 and in Science High School will visit the Picasso Exhibition within the scope of the Visual Arts Course. During the visits that will take place from 3 January - 9 March 2006, a total of 1071 Eyüboğlu students will get a chance to see the Picasso collection

Concert
THE GREAT SOCIETY SINGERS and CORBAN COLLEGE CHAMBER choirs of the USA gave a concert in Eyüboğlu Hall at 14:00 hours on 2 January 2006. Eyüboğlu students, parents, staff and faculty enjoyed the concert greatly.

35 Eyüboğlu students from different grade levels will be joining the Space Camp in İzmir from 22 – 27 January 2006.

Our Students’ Success
Our students Onur Candar and Hakan Ulusel from IB2 Science class, Berk hakgüder from L3 FA Class and Ali Aşık from 12 FA class have passed the Turkish Culture Foundation’s AFS Intercultural Programs test and have won the right to attend school abroad during academic year 2006-2007.

Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu won first place in European Championship
Eyüboğlu High School Class 7C student TEVFIK BURAK BABAOĞLU, won first place in the European Championships 12 year old boys foil category held in Romania on 10-11 December 2005. Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu became national champion TEVFIK BURAK BABAOĞLU from Class 7C became the champion in the Turkish National Inter-school Youth Fencing Championships Foil category held in Eskişehir from 02-04 December 2005.

Our students won third and fifth place in World Shotokan-Karate-do Championships
Our Çamlıca Primary School students SEMİH YIKILMAZ (5-B/251) and GÜROL MUT (5-C/1075) won third place and fifth place respectively in the "World Shotokan-Karate-do Championships" held from 22-27 November 2005 in Lignona, Italy.

Creativity Classroom
With the cooperation of the Guidance Department and the Administration, a creativity classroom has been initiated in Çamlıca Primary School in order to enable the students to discover their creativity, to develop reflective thinking, increase the level of academic achievement and provide students with a class environment which allows them to produce creative works. The classroom was opened by Primary School Principal Ayten Eyüboğlu on 7 October 2005.

10th Annual Chess Tournament
The 10th Annual Chess Tournament was held from 9-11 December 2005 with the participation of over 800 students from different schools in Istanbul.
