There are two libraries on Eyüboğlu campus: High School Library and Media Center (Central Library) and Çamlıca Primary School Library. The Primary School building also houses a Research Center designed and organized in accordance with the IB PYP units of inquiry. The Research Center , which works in coordination with the library, aims to enable the students to actively use a wide range of audio visual materials as well as printed and electronic resources in their learning and research. In addition to the 52,000 volumes written in the various languages taught at Eyüboğlu, the libraries hold approximately 2000 CDs, DVDs, VCDs and other non-print materials. Furthermore, the libraries have subscriptions to 63 periodicals and 1 database.

The libraries are available to the students during school hours for individual use as well as for work conducted under the supervision of teachers. The libraries are open until 18:00 hours during the week and on Saturdays so that the students can use the library also outside school hours. The recently renovated Central Library houses two classrooms one of which is equipped with computers so that the teachers are provided with the facilities to teach right within the library. In addition to that, there are 3 rooms designed for the purposes of individual or group work. The library is equipped with 15 computers for browsing the Internet or the on-line library catalogue. The technical facilities of the libraries are updated constantly. Also available in the libraries are photocopiers, printers, scanners, TV, DVD player and video. All the transactions are carried out through the library automation program ATHENA. Thanks to this program which provides an on-line catalogue, the bibliographic information regarding all of the resources in the library (books, magazines, materials other than books) can be accessed from the library or from outside, through Eyüboğlu’s website.

Eyüboğlu Central Library and Media Center consists of five sections:

  • Lending services
  • Periodicals
  • Reference books
  • İsmet Zeki Eyüboğlu Collection
  • Ertan Engin Collection
  • Multimedia section.

The primary school library on the other hand has been decorated cheerfully with characters from children’s books to suit the tastes and meet the needs of younger children and to inculcate in them a love for books and interest in reading.

In addition to the “Information Literacy course which is offered to 6 th and 7 th Grade students, the libraries also accommodate regular unit-based library work conducted by students in each grade level. Furthermore, in order to encourage reading, the libraries keep track of the students who read most and announce the bookworm of the month. Those students’ book reports are then exhibited. At the end of the year the top three students who read the most are awarded with a plaquette.

The libraries and the media centers are available to all Eyüboğlu students, parents, employees and graduates who are expected to obey certain rules while using these facilities.
