Activities

Below are some of the activities that are organized by Eyübo?lu Educational Institutions every year.

Parents Symposium

As an activity pioneered by Eyübo?lu, the Parents Symposium has attracted increasing numbers of participants since it was first organized. The symposium consists of 40-minute concurrent presentations grouped into three time slots during the day. The topics of the presentations which are delivered by Eyübo?lu teachers are chosen from areas that are of special interest to the parents. The parents are free to choose which ones to participate in from among the presentations that are intended for the parents of students from Primary School all the way to High School.

TOK -Theory of Knowledge / Knowledge and Culture

The main objectives of the TOK Conference themed “Knowledge and Culture” are: To have IB students from different cultures come together and investigate in detail some of the assumptions and beliefs of their own cultures and those of others; and to allow students to work more interactively with the material of TOK—and each other—in a real-world context. Its primary purposes are twofold. The first is to have students investigate in detail some of the assumptions and beliefs of their own cultures and those of others. This makes them more aware of their own point of departure in some investigations. It also helps them to understand the investigative points of departure of other enquirers. This enables students to search more effectively for places where views might intersect—a valuable skill in the arbitration of compromise and agreement—and allows them to see themselves in a larger tapestry of cultural perspectives. The second purpose is simply to allow students to work more interactively with the material of TOK in a real-world context. They will be in a collaborative work environment where they will interact with the people and views that they are thinking about. The beauty of this is that thoughts about issues of knowledge and culture are simultaneous with interaction with people of other backgrounds and cultures. This removes the issues from their theoretical starting point and brings them to life for the participants of the conference. Being the first and only Annual International Students’ TOK Conference, this organization is of great significance in terms of representing Eyübo?lu Educational Institutions in the international arena. The participants coming from different parts of the world are accommodated in Eyübo?lu students’ and teachers’ homes.

Literature and Book Days

Eyübo?lu Literature and Book Days are organized based on the fact that reading books is crucial for accumulating knowledge, developing the ability to communicate and perceiving the world. In the Literature and Book Days which are organized with a different theme and slogan each December, the objective is to contribute to students’ developing the pleasure and habit of reading. During the three-day event, the students get the opportunity to meet, discuss with and get autographs from visiting authors.
