Eyuboglu in Zurich

Our school attended the ISTA festival in Zurich between 2nd-5th February, 2006. The theme of the festival was 'Folk Tales', and our students dramatised Nasreddin Hodja's jokes. Their performance was highly appreciated by the audience. There were schools from different countries at the festival and our students were hosted by the students of Zurich Intercommunity School. During the festival our students had an opportunity to work with proffesional instructors of ISTA. They attended several workshops such as mask making, slow motion and story telling and prepared a closing performance. They also learnt to tell stories and singing songs using signs. This unforgettable experience did not only help them to improve their drama skills but also their English. At the end of the festival they did not want to go home.

Students' Impressions

It was my second ISTA festival.Like all the Ista festivals it was great. I enjoyed every minute of it. I attended a lot of workshops and made a lot of new friends. I felt really proud after our performance. Everybody congratulated me on my performance as Nasreddin Hodja. I was really popular after that. I look forward to attending the ISTA festival to be held in Eyuboglu next year.
